Dr. Sharon Lewis

Dr. Lewis is a neuromuscular/general neurology attending at the University of Pennsylvania.  She completed residency in Neurology and a neuromuscular fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. She earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2005 and graduated from the University of Miami in 2001 with a degree in Biology.

Dr. Lewis is the director of the pipeline program at the University of Pennsylvania. This is a high school mentoring program to allow for early exposure to healthcare related fields and science education. Dr. Lewis oversees the 9th grade, GI program, 10th grade neuroscience program and the 11th grade cardiology program. In addition, she also meets with the research team at the Netter Center for Community outreach to develop ideas for evaluation and perpetuation of the program.

Additionally, she teaches the medical students during their brain and behavior course and neurology rotation and coordinates their outpatient neurology experience. She is the director of the faculty neurology education series at Pennsylvania Hospital. She is also the faculty advisor for S.N.M.A. (Student National Medical Association) and S.I.G.N. (The Student Interest Group in Neurology). She serves as a faculty mentor for the Elizabeth Blackwell Society as well as the neurology residents.
