The SNMA Chapter of the Perelman School of Medicine
engages in the following activities:

Established in 1964, the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is the nation's oldest and largest independent, student-run
organization committed to the needs and concerns of
pre-medical students, medical students, and physicians of color.

Promote residency training programs at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Sponsor various events and activities in commemoration of Black History Month
Sponsor informational programs which educate minority youth about the medical school application and admissions process

The Student National Medical Association is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent, and socially conscious physicians.
